Carpet Tiles vs Rolls: Which Is Best For You?

Carpet Tiles vs Rolls – Which Is Best For You?

Whether you’re planning an office fit out or just looking for a little bit of inspiration, it’s important to consider whether you should implement carpet rolls or carpet tiles. They both have their strengths and in many cases, they’ve both proven quite useful for different settings. Nevertheless, there are a few added benefits to carpet tiles that you may not have considered so we’ve compiled them here for your benefit especially if you’re a designer who’s trying to make up their mind over which way to go.

As far as design goes, getting creative is one of the reasons why carpet tiles are so popular. On one hand you can mix and match with blocks of carpet tiles but on the other, you have carpet rolls, which can sometimes be a little bit more tricky to shake up visually. Looking for inspiration? Check out some of our previous design collections that showcase some of the great design work that carpet tiles have provided in the past.

Leading construction and inspiration media source, Architecture and Design point out that you can look at carpet tiles like a canvas that you can paint over or touch up if you’re remodelling a place that already uses them. “Carpet tiles offer flexibility in layout redesigns and refurbishments because you can simply lift and replace tiles where suited without relaying a whole floor space like with broadloom.” This of course is the perfect chance for you to put your own creative stamp on the spaces you design.

Have you ever considered breathing new life into old floor spaces by simply replacing colours or patterns on older carpet tiles to create a new visual aesthetic? It’s such a simple idea but one you might think over when drafting up new fit out designs.

It’s also budget friendly and gives you the chance to flex your creative muscles, so it’s well worth considering! Carpet tiles are also super easy to repair. Architecture & Design points out that this is a major aspect to consider when you’re deciding on whether you should use carpet tile or roll. “Carpet tiles are easily removed and simple to replace, meaning repair and refurbishment doesn’t necessitate the ordeal of ripping up and relaying the whole floor. In instances where replacement tiles are needed, such as in water damaged or worn out areas, tiles are simply lifted and replaced, without the need of a professional.” Meeting your client’s needs is one thing, but coming up with great ideas within your budget allocation is an added bonus!

Of course, this is something you could have considered before, but can be your saving grace if you are working to a tight deadline as well. If you’re a designer who prefers to stay in creative control then carpet tiles are the perfect choice. Being able to select which colours and patterns go where is a huge benefit and one that keeps designers coming back.
